"Transforming lives...one oil change at a time."

Christian Automotive Ministries (CAM), founded in August 2000, was the first of the Hands & Feet Ministries. The mission of CAM is to practically demonstrate the life transforming love of Jesus Christ by serving the basic automotive needs of our neighbors. This includes working with and training other churches and organizations to more comprehensively meet these needs. From August 2000 through November 2007, CAM serviced 1,122 vehicles and touched over 2,160 lives. CAM volunteers come from a variety of Knoxville area churches and have donated over 7,958 hours.

CAM Service Teams provide free oil and filter changes, vehicle safety inspections (lights, turn signals, fluids, etc.) and honest repair advice to single parents, senior citizens, and low income families.

CAM Hospitality Teams welcome, serve and interact with guests and their children while they are waiting on their vehicle to be serviced.

Restorative Justice Program

In addition to providing oil changes and vehicle safety inspections, CAM has been blessed to participate in the Restorative Justice Program of Knox County. The Restorative Justice Program, a faith-based initiative of the Compassion Coalition, assigns non-violent juvenile offenders to a community service project as a condition of their probation.

Every Car Care Saturday young men from this program are teamed with a mentor to help change oil and inspect vehicles, giving them the opportunity to see Christ at work, serving their community.

Individually teaming each young man with a mentor gives them the opportunity to open up and share what is going on in their lives. Service team volunteers listen to the struggles, concerns, fears, and dreams these young men have in their daily lives and share the hope found only in Jesus Christ.
